Award-winning labor reporter Kevin Madden retired after a distinguished career at the Labor Tribune and many years of service as an officer in the St. Louis Newspaper Guild (now the United Media Guild).
The region’s labor community will honor him with a retirement party and benefit Dec. 4 at Maggie O’Briens at 200 Market Street in downtown St. Louis. The Labor Tribune, St. Louis Labor Council and the St. Louis Building Trades Council are sponsoring the event.
Madden spent 24 years at the Labor Tribune reporting on issues critical to working people. Prior to that he was a reporter at the St. Louis Globe-Democrat.
Tickets for the event are $50, with proceeds going to offset extraordinary medical expenses incurred by his family. RSVP via e-mail at lmarshall@labortribune.com, by phone at 314-535-9660 or by mail at 505 S. Ewing Ave., St. Louis, Mo., 63105.
