To comply with UMG bylaws, UMG is accepting nominations for President

Per United Media Guild bylaws, UMG is seeking nominations for President.
When Jeff Gordon retired as the President of UMG last year, I (David Carson), as Vice President, took over Jeff’s duties. I would be honored to be nominated and continue to serve as President of UMG; however, to be official, we need to follow our bylaws, open nominations and have an election if multiple candidates are nominated.
Nominations will be open through Oct. 5th. If more than one person is nominated, we will have an election to determine who will be President.
Please email President nominations to Robin Harvey at rharvey@unitedmediaguild.org
Here is the section of our bylaws that deals with succession to President.

“Section 8. When a vacancy occurs in the office of President, the First-Vice President will serve as President on an interim basis until a special election can be held.

When a vacancy occurs in any office other than President, the Executive Committee shall designate someone from among them to perform the duties of the office on an interim basis. If the remaining term of office is longer than six months, a special election will be held.

Special elections will be held in conformity with the general provisions of this Article for nomination and election of officers.”
